By Newsroom

A 26-year-old Tobago man was granted $100,000 bail with a surety after appearing virtually before a Scarborough Magistrate yesterday, charged with 10 counts of exposing a child to pornography.

The accused was also ordered to have no contact whatsoever with the girl and to stay 100 feet away from her as part of his bail conditions set by Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan.

He is expected to reappear before the court on April 29th, 2022, to answer to the charge.

The suspect was arrested on March 28th and subsequently charged on March 31st by PC Mitchell of the Child Protection Unit (CPU), Tobago Division.

He was arrested following a police report which claimed that on several occasions in March 2022 a man allegedly sent videos of himself engaging in explicit conduct to a girl via a social media app.

Following investigations supervised by Superintendent of Police (Ag.), Claire Guy-Alleyne and Insp Miller of the CPU, the man was charged with the offences.
