A total of 45 candidates will contest the highly anticipated THA election in Tobago on December 6th, after filing their nomination papers on Monday.

The People’s National Movement and the Progressive Democratic Patriots have both fielded candidates in all fifteen electoral districts.

Meanwhile, the Innovative Democratic Alliance will contest thirteen of the fifteen electoral districts, while the Class Action Reform Movement and Unity of the People political parties have each fielded one candidate in the electoral district of Buccoo/Mt. Pleasant.

Bucoo/Mt Pleasant is the only electoral district being contested by all five parties.

There are no independent candidates contesting the elections.
