450 New Electronic Devices For Primary And Secondary Students In La Brea

By Newsroom

Trinidad Generation Unlimited is the latest corporate sponsor to sign on to the Ministry of Education’s Adopt A School programme,  donating 450 electronic devices for La Brea students at the primary and secondary levels.

The devices were handed over at the Education Ministry’s head office in Port of Spain on Thursday.

Students from the eight schools in TGU’s fence line community—one secondary and seven primary—will benefit from the donation of 450 devices. The schools are Vessigny Secondary, La Brea R.C. Primary, Brighton A.C. Primary, Vance River R.C. Primary, Guapo Government Primary, Rousillac Hindu S.D.M.S Primary, Rousillac Presbyterian Primary and Delhi Hindu S.D.M.S. Primary.

The Education Ministry welcomed the donation, saying: “TGU has truly answered the call to adopt a school and has gone beyond delivering devices to giving yeoman support to the schools of La Brea and environs. TGU’s involvement with these schools predate Thursday’s donation and includes infrastructural support and repairs, outfitting schools with sanitization stations for washing hands upon entry and grocery vouchers to students in the school feeding programme. Each project is powered by the volunteerism of TGU’s employees and focuses on projects related to health, safety and youth development to name a few.”
