5,000 Covid-19 Vaccines Arrive From Antigua and Barbuda

By Newsroom

Five thousand Covid-19 Sinopharm vaccines landed at the Piarco International Airport on Wednesday evening, courtesy the government of Antigua and Barbuda.

The donation comes as the Gaston Browne administration said it could not utilize the stock at this time.

“The Government of Trinidad and Tobago extends its  appreciation to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for this donation, which will be used by the Ministry of Health in our vaccine rollout programme,” a statement from the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs read.

This is the second such vaccine donation to arrive in the country this week- on Sunday 4,000 AstraZeneca vaccines were sent from the government in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Those doses will be used as second shots, according to Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley.
