Trinidad and Tobago will get a significant boost to its vaccination program when a shipment of 800,000 Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines arrives in the country early next week.
The shipment was confirmed by Chinese Ambassador to T&T, who noted that this latest shipment puts the total donation and procurement of Chinese vaccines in T&T to 1.1 million doses.
China first donated 100,000 vaccines to Trinidad and Tobago on May 19th, in an arrangement reached between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.
Subsequently, a shipment of 200,000 doses were purchased and arrived on June 14th.
This is the third shipment of vaccines from Beijing.
