Jamaica Recorded Eight New COVID-19 Deaths Today Alone. The Youngest Patient Was 22-Years-Old

A 22 year old man from the St. Catherine Parish is among eight fatalities recorded by Jamaica’s Health Ministry in its COVID-19 update on Saturday.

The other seven range between the ages of 42-92 and the Ministry said seven of the eight patients had co-morbidities. 

Meanwhile, 131 new COVID-19 cases were also reported on Saturday, pushing the number of cases overall to 5,854.

The island’s youngest COVID-19 patient is three years old, while the oldest positive patient is 95. 

According to statistics, Kingston and St Andrew are still leading the pack with a total 2,210 infections, followed by St Catherine with 1,335, and St James with 382.

One hundred and twenty eight people have also recovered in the last 24 hours.

Jamaica is currently under a nationwide curfew from 8pm to 5am daily, set in place until October 7th.
