Chinese National Badly Beaten As Bandits Rob Supermarket

A 28 year old Belmont woman has been arrested in connection with a robbery which took place at a Chinese supermarket early this morning.

Police say they received a call about a robbery in progress at the supermarket, located along the corner of George and Prince Street in Port of Spain.

Upon their arrival, officers say the suspects fled the scene, managing to escape.

The owner of the establishment, a Chinese national, was found badly beaten and bruised.

Further investigations led to the 28 year old being arrested. Officers have also seized a 44-inch flat screen television which was missing from the store.

Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are continuing investigations.
