National Security Minister Stuart Young has won a legal challenge brought by businesswoman Sacha Singh, who made claims that the Minister’s exemption process for entry into Trinidad and Tobago was biased and unfair.
A ruling from the High Court found that Ms. Singh’s claims were “unarguable and without a realistic prospect of success”.
In July Singh, who currently resides in Florida, accused Minister Young of blatantly ignoring the requests for exemptions made by T&T nationals abroad.
In response, the Minister questioned whether Singh had been lobbying for government to adopt a more relaxed exemption policy, to benefit her private business.
Singh is the Director of Blissful Jets, a private jet service in Miami.
She dismissed the Minister’s inference and denied that she had been arranging flights for nationals with a promise to have their exemptions granted.
