A California man will appear before a  San Fernando Magistrate on Monday, charged with robbery with violence.

Perry Vaughn Pollard, 45 was charged on Friday.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Monday 14th December, 2020 in Gasparillo.

The victim was approached by two men while at a relative’s home. One of the men was armed with a chopper. They allegedly ran up to the victim who attempted to escape but was held down by the suspects. One of the suspects allegedly dealt the victim several blows to the body with the chopper. They allegedly took items of jewellery including a chain and a bracelet from the victim and escaped on foot.

The victim was treated at the Gasparillo Health Centre and discharged. Ag Cpl Gervais continued enquiries and upon receiving instructions, charged Pollard, of Southern Main Road, California.
