Legislation to permit the use of pepper spray as a safety tool will soon come before the Parliament for debate, in order to give the vulnerable in society a “fighting chance” at safety against criminal elements.
The decision comes after the National Security Council- which is chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley- accepted recommendations for the regulated use of pepper spray as a crime deterrent.
The announcement was made by Attorney General Faris Al Rawi during Thursday night’s PNM meeting in Belmont.
