According to reports, a search is underway for a 44-year-old woman who was swept away this afternoon while trying to cross a ravine.

Police say the woman, Teresa Lynch of La Pastora Village, Lopinot, was with her 45-year-old brother and a third individual and as they tried to cross a ravine in the vicinity of McDavid Trace she slipped into the rushing waters of the ravine.

The two people with her tried to rescue her, but they encountered difficulties in the rising waters and unfortunately were unable to reach the 44-year-old.

Lynch has still not been found.
