Clean-up operations have begun in Woodland, South Oropouche following reports of oil leaking from a 12-inch pipeline in the New Cut Channel area.
The Heritage Petroleum Company says when its Emergency and Oil Spill Response team arrived to assess the scene, they extinguished a small bushfire near the line and began repairs to the pipeline.
Heritage said the spill is not in immediate proximity to any residents and there have been no confirmed reports of birds or animals being affected by the spill.
