Police have arrested three men were arrested, and seized a firearm, along with a quantity of ammunition and narcotics during State of Emergency (SOE) exercises conducted in the Tobago and Western Divisions on 13th January 2025.
According to the TTPS between 10:00 pm and 11:50 pm, an operation was carried out by the Tobago Divisional Task Force and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment. During the exercise, a vehicle with three male occupants was observed travelling north along Northside Road, near Mt. Grace Junction.
The grey Mazda 3 was stopped and searched by officers, leading to the seizure of a Sarsilmaz B6C pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 200 grams of cannabis.
The three men, aged 22 and 24 from Lambeau Road, Signal Hill, and 29 from Harmony Hall, Mt. Grace, were arrested in connection with the find. Earlier that same day, in the Western Division, officers from the North Eastern Division Task Force, St. James Criminal Investigations Department and St. James Charge Room conducted an exercise in which they searched two abandoned properties on Kandahar Street, St. James.
There, they discovered and seized an AR-15 magazine. Investigations into these matters are ongoing.
