A  taxi driver was granted bail in the sum of TT$100,000 when he appeared before a  Magistrate charged with one count of sexual penetration against a female victim, one count abduction of a female and one count of taxi used for indecent or immoral purpose.

The 37-year-old man was arrested by officers of the North Eastern Child Protection Unit (CPU).

 In Tobago, a father will appear in court again today to answer a charge of one count of cruelty against a child arising out of an incident which occurred on Saturday 8th February.

 The accused appeared before a Scarborough Magistrate on Monday and the matter was adjourned to today.

  Meantime, officers of the Port-of-Spain CPU arrested a 25-year-old man on a report of sexual touching of a female minor.
