A 16-year-old Venezuelan teen is now in protective custody after a former Petrotrin employee, 32-year-old Obawole “Ovad” Biddeau, appeared before the court charged with causing a child to become a prostitute, controlling a child prostitute, receiving financial benefit from trafficking a child, transporting a child for prostitution and harbouring a child for the purpose of exploitation.
Biddeau appeared before San Fernando Senior Magistrate Jo-Anne Connor yesterday to answer the charges. He was granted $200,000 bail and instructed to have no contact with the alleged victim, surrender his passport and report to the police station once a week. The matter was adjourned to March 31.
