Supermarket Bandits Caught Hiding From the Police

Two men who tried to rob a supermarket were caught by cops hiding inside the building.

The men from San Juan had gone to  La Romaine where they tried to rob the Bamboo Supermarket on Sunday night.

Police officers reported getting a call at 9 45PM which led them to the premises on the Southern Main Road.

A  23-year-old man of Sunshine Avenue, San Juan was found hiding on a shelf where the cops also found a Glock Pistol with a silencer along with a magazine loaded with 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition ( see photo).

His accomplice a 33 year old man of Prizgar Road, San Juan also found hiding between two refrigerators inside the supermarket.

Both men were arrested and charged with robbery with violence and possession of firearm and ammunition. Also in the San Fernando District police seized 35 rounds of 9mm ammunition when they executed a search warrant at the home of a 51-year-old driver of Stoney Hill, Taradale.

The officers searched a wardrobe in the house and discovered a black and gold coloured box containing the ammunition. The man was arrested and will be charged.
