T&T has its first confirmed case of the Covid-19 virus. The patient is a 52-year-old male who flew in to this country from Switzerland. Since he arrived in the country on Monday he has been in self-isolation at his home. The case has been described as mild and the patient will be transported to the Caura Hospital for further treatment.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh made the confirmation at a press conference a short while ago. He also said that people who may have come into contact with the man are being contacted and advised to self-quarantine. More as details become available.
