A Man Is Wounded In Another Police Involved Shooting.

A man was shot and wounded by police officers of the Port of Spain Division who went to South Oropouche to assist a bailiff with an eviction order.

An official release of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS)  said  “officers of the Port of Spain Division, accompanied by a bailiff, proceeded to Berridge Trace, South Oropouche, around 5:45am, on Tuesday 5th May, to effect an eviction pursuant to a High Court judgment. Upon arriving at the location, the officers were reportedly attacked by a man with a cutlass. In accordance with the Use of Force policy, one of the officers discharged his firearm, striking the man in his lower abdomen.”

The wounded man, whose name with withheld, is 34-year-old of Berridge Trace, South Oropouche. He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
