By Newsroom

A total of 197 new COVID-19 cases were recorded by the Health Ministry today, pushing the number of active cases to 1,800.

In the 95 cases reported this evening, 44 of those patients are people housed at the Police Training Academy.

The Ministry says these 44 cases “have not been in circulation within the national community. These individuals will be transferred to a public health facility for relevant medical care.  All established protocols have been implemented.”

The ninety-five (95) positive cases reported above show results from samples taken during the period August 30th to September 8th, 2020.

Members of the public are reminded that they must adhere to the ‘New Normal’ recommendations and take the following personal health measures to protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19:

Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you go out in public

Stay home if you are ill

Clean then sanitize surfaces (e.g. tabletops, door knobs and cell phones)
