By Newsroom

There are now 802 active of COVID-19 cases in the country, as the Ministry of Health reported in its morning update (August 27) that 402 patients have been discharged from hospital, having recovered from the virus.

The figure includes 18 new cases that were recorded on Thursday.

Meanwhile, 670 positive patients with mild or no symptoms have been discharged from the State facilities and allowed to self-quarantine at home.

This is in accordance with the Ministry’s new and “elevated response” to the virus- a measure constructed to ensure the number of available beds in the parallel health system remains sufficient for the number of cases.

At present, there are 118 patients in hospital.
