Police have recovered a quantity of ammunition and narcotics in Laventille. According to the TTPS ammo and drugs were recovered by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) yesterday morning.

The officers executed search warrant exercises in Prosperity Lane, Gonzales and Mentor Alley, Laventille, however, nothing illegal was found. The party continued their search and went to a bushy area a short distance from Prosperity Lane and found one extended magazine containing 16 rounds 40. calibre ammunition, 8 rounds of 5.56 ammunition in a black bag and three plastic packets containing cocaine which weighed 48.1 grams.

PC Beckles took possession of the illegal items found and they were conveyed to the Crime Scene Investigation office, Port of Spain. Enquiries are continuing.
