Another Firearm Taken Off The Streets By Police

Police have seized a firearm, ammunition and a quantity of marijuana during an anti-crime exercise in the Cedros Police District yesterday January 13.

The seizure was made after officers searched several drug blocks and shacks at the Fullerton Fishing Facility. They targeted several priority offenders and found a green knapsack containing one .380 Lorcin Pistol with three rounds of .380 ammunition and three packets containing 1.5kg of marijuana in a bushy area in close proximity to the Fishing Facility.

However, no one was arrested.

According to a statement from the TTPS, officers also conducted a stop-and-search exercise and issued seven tickets for traffic violations.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Remy, Thedore-Persad, ASPs Mathura and Nanan, Insp Prescott and supervised by ASPs Victor and Ramesar of the Inter Agency Task Force(IATF) and included members of the South Western Division Task Force, IATF, Crime Patrol Unit, Traffic Unit and Cedros Police Station.
