Another Ganja Field Destroyed By Police, Estimated Worth $525,000

Police discovered and destroyed marijuana trees with an estimated street value of $525,000, during a joint exercise conducted in Maracas St. Joseph on Friday.

Around 6.40 am, members of the Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.) and the National Security Special Operations Group (N.S.S.O.G), working alongside members of the Air Support Unit and the Special Investigations Unit, embarked on an operation at Sobradura Road, Maracas, St Joseph.

As a result of information received, the combined teams trekked approximately 400 metres into the forest, where they located a marijuana field measuring approximately 50 feet × 100 feet.

The team discovered approximately 300 fully grown marijuana trees and a camp.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.

Earlier this week, $100,000 worth of marijuana was destroyed by police at a camp in Grand Riviere.
