Another Police Officer Succumbs to Covid-19

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has lost another officer to Covid-19.

Corporal Odelle Guy succumbed to the virus on Monday, after a stay in the Intensive Care Unit at the Arima Hospital.

He is the 15th police officer to succumb to the virus.

Corporal Guy, 43, joined the Police Service on 8th April, 2002, and was first posted to the Eastern Division, then transferred to Northern Division on 18th May, 2010. He returned to the Eastern Division in May 2016, where he was last attached to the CID of the Sangre Grande Police Station.

Senior Supt Joseph Chandool, head of the Eastern Divisions, said Guy will be remembered as being a true example of a dedicated, hardworking and selfless team player, and will be greatly missed by his colleagues.

Cpl Guy leaves to mourn his wife, Kim Ramnarine-Guy and his four children Jodell, Kidell, Kirdell and Kindell.

Trinidad and Tobago now has a record of 1,416 Covid-19 deaths, after a total of six patients succumbed to the virus on Monday.There are 3,973 active cases, with 292 patients in the parallel healthcare system.
