The TTPS begins processing applications for Import Permits for pepper spray from today, Wednesday.

Meanwhile, retailers can begin submitting applications from August 1st, while applications for permits for individual ‘use and carry’ will begin on August 30th.

Acting Commissioner of Police Mc Donald Jacob says importers must indicate on the application what they are importing and allow for a period of one to two weeks for the investigation process.

Legislation permitting the use of Trinidad and Tobago was unanimously passed in the Parliament last June.
