Police are asking anyone with information on illegal firearms to make a report, after an AR-15 assault rifle was found in Laventille on Saturday.

Officers were on mobile patrol in the area and upon receiving information from Command Centre, searched an open parcel of land at Bowen Trace, Mapp Lands, Laventille.

There they found one AR-15assault rifle wrapped in a black plastic bag under pieces of board and PVC pipes.

Investigations are continuing.
