Bar Owners Association Pleads With Police Commissioner To Crack Down On Illegitimate Alcohol Vendors

By Newsroom

The Bar Owners and Operators Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BOATT) has made a case to Top Cop, Gary Griffith, urging him to crack down on illegal alcohol vendors who he says are putting a strain on their business.

The appeal was made as the Association’s leadership met with the Police Commissioner at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain on Thursday.

Commissioner Griffith urged the Association to send reports of such instances directly to him for urgent investigations and he will put resources in place to deal with them.

He also urged the Association to ensure that its members adhere to basic COVID-19 precautions at their establishments to keep their customers and themselves safe.

Commissioner Griffith expressed his willingness to keep meeting with the Association representatives to ensure their members are compliant with the Public Health Regulations.
