Beach-goers To Appear In Court For Breaching COVID-19 Restrictions

Seven people who were caught liming at a Mayaro beach on Monday are scheduled to appear in court today, charged with  breaching the  Public Health Ordinance (COVID-19 Regulations).

The group was arrested as police conducted during roving checks in the Eastern Division on Monday.

Between 3pm and 7pm. Officers of the Mayaro CID and Task Force, supervised by Sergeant Bhim were conducting checks of coastal areas in the Eastern Division when they encountered the group.

The group, ranging from ages 18 to 49 and consisting of five women and two men, are from several areas, which include the Cunupia, Lange Park and Enterprise districts.

Persons arrested are:

Sharlene Ganesh, 36 years of age
Shivanna Sinanan, 20 years of age
Aaliah Herbert, 18 years of age
Adrian Medrano, 39 years of age
Evelyn Desantos, 41 years of age
Arthur Phillips, 49 years of age
