Beaches, In-House Dining Closed As Government Imposes New Covid-19 Restrictions

By Newsroom

Effective from midnight tonight, all beaches across the country will be closed, as government reimposes Covid-19 restrictions.

In house-dining will also be halted and public gathering reduced from 10 to five people.

The measures will be in place for an initial three week period, and come on the heels of the Ministry recording 70 new Covid infections in its latest update.

The announcement was made by Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, during Wednesday’s Covid-19 media briefing.

At present, Trinidad and Tobago has 566 active cases of the Covid-19 virus, out of the total 8,511 on record.

In the hospitals there are 71 patients, with 420 others in self isolation.
