‘Bellies’ To Appear In Court For 2019 Murder

A 24-year-old Diego Martin man, who is believed to be responsible for the 2019 killing of Christopher Moore, is expected to appear virtually before a Princes Town Magistrate tomorrow.

Rakeel Constance, also called ‘Bellies,’ was charged with murder on Saturday by PC Nelson, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, after advice received by Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, last Friday.

Christopher Moore was found in the kitchen area of his home on the afternoon of Saturday 5th October, 2019, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

According to police reports, on Friday 4th October, 2019, Moore had an altercation with a man over money and a cellular phone along Perry Young Road, Indian Walk, Moruga, where a physical confrontation occurred. During the exchange, it was reported that Moore had beaten the man with a cutlass, the man in response is alleged to have made death threats against Moore.

On the following day, two men allegedly showed up at Moore’s home, following which loud explosions were heard.

Police were contacted and a party of officers responded where they discovered Moore’s body which was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations resulted in the arrests of two suspects, one of whom were released.
