Carenage Man Killed In Police Involved Shooting

A visit to an apartment at Smith Hill, Carenage to execute a search warrant ended with officers fatally shooting a man.

A team of officers went to the home of Anthony Junior Skinner at around 12:45 pm to conduct a search for firearms and ammunition. According to the police, Skinner pointed a firearm at them, prompting two of the offices to fire at him, in accordance with the use of force policy.

The suspect’s firearm was retrieved and found to be a camouflage pistol.

He was rushed to the St James Infirmary, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers conducted a further check of the premises and seized a bag with what appeared to be a dismantled shotgun.

Investigations are ongoing.
