Caura River is now a No-Go Zone

By Newsroom

Barriers have been placed at the entrance of Caura Recreation Park to prevent citizens from gathering at the popular site.

Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, Kazim Hosein personally supervised the job on Thursday morning one day after the Prime Minister condemned people gathering to lime at the river along with bar owners who keep their establishments open contrary to a government request.

“Personal responsibility is integral to preventing the spread of COVID-19,” Mr Hosein said in a  Facebook post where he posted these photos. He was accompanied by the MP for Tunapuna, Esmond Forde ( at left in photo) as well as the  Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation, Kwasi Robinson ( at right).
