CDC Adds 22 Countries To Highest Risk Travel Category

Twenty-two countries have been elevated to the highest risk travel category by the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention- a notable increase as last week only two nations were added to the Level Four category.

Among the countries added to the list are Argentina and Australia, which have maintained some of the strictest border controls throughout the pandemic.

Below is the full list of countries added to the list:

• Albania
• Argentina
• Australia
• Bahamas
• Bahrain
• Bermuda
• Bolivia
• British Virgin Islands
• Cape Verde
• Egypt
• Grenada
• Guyana
• Israel
• Panama
• Qatar
• Saint Kitts and Nevis
• Saint Lucia
• São Tomé and Príncipe
• Sint Maarten
• Suriname
• Turks and Caicos Islands
• Uruguay

The British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean had the biggest move upward in the list. It was at Level 1 (or “low” risk) last week.
