Chaguanas Man Charged With the Murder of ‘One Foot’

A 32-year-old man from Chaguanas is expected to appear virtually at the North A Criminal High Court today, July 16, after he was charged with Murder.

According to a statement from the TTPS, DARREN SEALES, also called Scotty, also called Totti, of Carlsen Field, Chaguanas was charged after Ag Director of Public Prosecution Mrs Sabrina Jaglal advised that the suspect be charged with the offence of murder, relative to the death of a man who was beaten and burned in the Central Division.

Police reports indicate that around 11:30 pm on Saturday 08th June 2024, an officer responded to a report of a wounding on Manic Street, Chaguanas, near the Maxi Hub. Upon arrival, the officers observed a burnt wheelchair on the ground and discovered PERFECTOR EDWARDS, also called ‘One Foot’, lying on the ground nursing injuries.

Edwards was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility and then transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex for further treatment. On Monday 17th June, 2024, officers received information that Edwards succumbed to his injuries at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Thursday 13th June 2024.
