By Newsroom

Heritage Petroleum is cautioning persons to avoid going to the Godineau River, also known as the South Oropouche River, as clean up efforts continue following an oil spill which occurred on Wednesday.

Earlier today, the company confirmed that the oil spill in Woodland was due to a leaking trunk pipeline.

It said the pipeline was isolated and is in the process of being clamped.

The company has also mobilised its specialised teams to mitigate the negative environmental impact of the spill.
