Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has confirmed that an autopsy has been completed for Sherise Williams, who died following a fall at the Port of Spain General Hospital on Tuesday.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Friday, Minister Deyalsingh said the autopsy report must now be reviewed by the Chief Medical Officer and the Director of Women’s Health, after which a decision will be made as to what action, if any, is to be taken.

The  30 year old mother of two died one day after giving birth via C-Section.   

She was said to be walking to the washroom when she collapsed.

The North-West Regional Health Authority, in a statement on Thursday, claimed Ms. Williams was advised not to attempt to walk- an order it said she overlooked.
