Coast Guard Officers Seize Large Quantity Of $USD On Board Pirogue, Occupants Handed Over To Police

Two Trinidadian nationals and two Venezuelan nationals were held by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard after the officers intercepted their pirogue and found $US 119,800 and two grammes of marijuana.

Coast Guard vessel, TTS Carli Bay CG 28, intercepted the pirogue south west of Erin Point on Friday.

The four suspects were taken to the Coast Guard Base in Cedros, and were subsequently  handed over to Point Fortin police for questioning.
