Coast Guard: Search Continues For Three Men Who Left For Fishing On September 28

By Newsroom

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard is now liaising with Venezuelan authorities in hopes of recovering three people who left Moruga to go fishing on September 28th.

The Coast Guard says it began searching for the three men after receiving a report last Monday.

With the assistance of the Air Guard, searches have been conducted on the south coast of Trinidad and in the Gulf of Paria, however there has been no sighting of the men or their vessels.

“The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard continues to monitor the areas under national jurisdiction and has been liaising with Venezuelan authorities on the situation,” it said in a statement.

“The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard reminds vessel owners and seafarers to ensure that they provide family members with accurate information such as their intended destination, vessel registration number, description of vessel hull and engines, as well as scheduled return time. This information is vital in cases of emergency and can aid the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard in successfully conducting Search and Rescue operations when called upon” it said.
