Cops and Soldiers CrackDown at Oropune Gardens

Cops arrested eight persons after an early morning raid in Opopune Gardens uncovered a pistol and a quantity of camouflage wear. 

 “The officers of the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) conducted a crime suppression exercise in Oropune Gardens, in which Buildings 240 and 241 were searched.

  “There, the officers discovered one pistol and ten rounds of  9mm ammunition along with a quantity of camouflage clothing,” the TTPS revealed.

Three women, aged 31, 34 and 64 and the men, whose ages ranged from 21 to 64 years, were detained pending further enquiries. T hey are likely to be charged for possession of firearm, ammunition and camouflage clothing.

 Members of the TT Defence Force were part of the exercise which started at  6 AM and ended at 8 AM.

  The Northern Division is pleading with residents Oropune Gardens who may have information on illegal activities and illegal firearms in their area to pass on the information as officers are steadfast in reversing the increasing tide of criminality in the area, “ the TTPS said.
