Cops Offer Half A Million Reward In Hopes Of Finding Prison Officers’ Murderers

By Newsroom

Prison officers Trevor Serrette and Nigel Jones were gunned down days apart in November

A half a million dollar reward is being offered to anyone with information which can lead homicide investigators to the murderers of prison officers Trevor Serette and Nigel Jones.

Both men worked at the Wayne Jackson Building of the Maximum Security Prison and  were gunned down days apart last month.

The cash offer was announced in a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, and is in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security.

Last month, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley promised to do “everything possible” to keep prison officers and their families safe, as he commented on the two murders.

“We will do everything possible to secure them and their families. It must be correctly assumed by all, that the Ministry of National Security will not surrender the nation’s prisons, and the State will continue without ceasing, to have Trinidad and Tobago remain a place where there is the rule of law and that there is adequate and effective law enforcement at every level so as to secure the peace and safety of all citizens,” he continued.

Anyone with information on the crimes can contact 483-1170-4.

The TTPS assures all calls are private and confidential.
