Two men managed to escape from the stolen vehicle they were commuting in on Saturday, as officers closed in them during an anti-crime exercise in the Princes Town District.
Officers were on mobile patrol along Realise Road, Princes Town, around 2:45am on Saturday, when they observed a white Hyundai H-100 motor vehicle with two masked occupants proceeding in the opposite direction.
The officers gave chase and the vehicle stopped a short distance away.
The two occupants exited the vehicle and made their escape.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding on pistol loaded with a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition hidden in the driver’s side door.
The vehicle was subsequently found to be previously reported stolen.
