A 43-year-old man and his 42-year-old common law wife who have been charged with a combined total of 44 child sexual abuse charges have been denied bail. The couple reappeared before senior magistrate Christine Charles, earlier today in the Couva magistrates court.  

They had been denied bail when they appeared in court on Monday. They were denied bail on the grounds that the incidents of penetration were too numerous. They were remanded into custody and advised to apply to a judge in chambers for bail.
