COVID-19 Backlash: Less Passengers Allowed on Inter-Island Ferry

By Newsroom

The number of passengers allowed on the inter-island ferry for sailing has-been reduced by 50% in keeping with the need for “social distancing,” in the coronavirus scare.

That’s according to Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinnanan who said the water taxi service has also cancelled all tours and charter services.

In responding to a question in the Senate this afternoon, Sinanan said that the vessels are sanitized after every sailing and the widows are opened to allow fresh air for circulation.

The air condition is used only during the journey between Port of Spain and Scarborough.
