No new cases were reported again on Tuesday morning when the Ministry of Health provided the latest statistics for COVID -19 deaths.

Altogether the Ministry of Health reported that  60  persons are hospitalized, 14 of whom are at Caura and 46 at the Couva Hospital.

There are no patients at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Couva but three patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).   The 43 preens who are on the wards at Couva are all in a stable condition. All the 28 persons at the “step-down facility” in Sangre Grande are reported to be stable.

The testing criterion has been adapted now that the borders have been closed for a couple of weeks. Therefore persons who have come into contact with a known or a probable COVID-19 patient will be tested. That is separate from the surveillance testing at the primary health care facilities.
