CXC Postpones CSEC, CAPE Exams By Two Weeks

The Caribbean Examination Council, CXC has announced a decision to delay the start of this year’s CSEC and CAPE examinations, which will now begin on June 28th.

CXC says results will be made available sometime between the last week in September and the first week in October.

The other major decisions surrounding the exam are as follows:

–          All papers will be administered at CSEC and CAPE in their original formats. Papers 1, Paper 2 and the School-based Assessment (Paper3/2 for private candidates)

–          The deadline to defer the sitting of examinations to 2022 has been extended to May 31st, 2021.

–          The deadline for the submission of all School Based Assessments for CSEC and CAPE has been extended to 30th June 2021.

–          A review of the broad topics shared by CXC for Paper 2 examinations. The results of this review will be shared by Friday 28th May 2021.

–          Though CXC has already issued concessions to candidates, during the marking/grading process consideration will be given to the psycho-social impact students may have experienced.  Further concessions may be considered on a country-by-country basis.

CXC is expected to issue a press release giving further details of the decisions taken regarding the examinations of 2021.

The  Ministry of Education said this will be made available once it is received.
