Daycares Cannot Be Reopened During Phase Three, Says CMO

By Newsroom

There is no consideration at this time for daycares to be operationalized to facilitate parents who have returned to work in Phase Three of government’s reopening plan.

Responding to a question on the matter during Wednesday’s COVID-19 virtual media conference, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram says this is because of the threat of the virus being passed around to children as it is difficult and near impossible for them to practice physical distancing.

He added that daycares would likely be reopened in the same timeline that school resumes.
