Deaslcott back up and running

By Shirvan Williams

WASA has confirmed that the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott) has completed scheduled maintenance works and has returned to service.
According to WASA:

“The Desalcott owned and operated plant, provides 40 million gallons daily to WASA, which is used to supply the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, as well as augment the supply to areas in Central and South Trinidad.

On Monday 5th December, Desalcott restarted their operations, ramping up production which resumed supply to the Authority, allowing the Authority to effect distribution to areas of south Trinidad.

On Tuesday 6th December, Desalcott was forced to conduct emergency repairs to a leak at their facility, which resulted in reduced flows from the facility to the Authority. However, this temporary setback lasted four (4) hours from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The facility was brought back into full operation and production ramped up to 40 MIGD by midnight, Tuesday 6th December 2022.”
