Deyalsingh: Photocopies, Electronic Copies Of Vaccination Card Accepted For Safe Zone Entry

By Newsroom

Photocopies and electronic copies of Covid-19 vaccination cards will be accepted for entry into Safe Zones.

This from Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, who confirmed that Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram has informed both the TTPS and Public Health inspectors of the allowance.

Meantime, a person who has lost their Covid-19 vaccination card is advised that they must visit the health centre where they received their doses, or their local CMOH office, in order to acquire a replacement card.

The public is warned, however, that anyone found attempting to enter a safe zone by submitting a fake vaccine card or falsifying their vaccination status, will face a  $5,000 fixed penalty. Failure to pay will further result in a Summary conviction with a $50,000 fine and five years in prison.

The Ministry s still working on introducing a digital vaccine card to alleviate instances of fraud.
