By Newsroom

As the country continues to fight against COVID-19, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh is encouraging parents not to shy away from visiting the public health centres to have their children immunized.

Speaking at Monday’s virtual press briefing, Minister Deyalsingh said  “What we noticed in other countries is that the immunization programme tends to fall off and what we don’t want in Trinidad is while we deal with COVID, to have an outbreak of tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, whooping cough,  diphtheria and yellow fever.”

In the same vein, Minister Deyalsingh advised HIV patients that their clinics remain available across the country, for them to have access to medication. “We don’t want to reverse the gains that we have made in keeping our HIV/AIDS numbers down ” he said.
