The TTPS has confirmed through DNA testing that the burnt remains of a 31-year-old woman was Danette Pierre. The gruesome discovery was made in January in the Claton Bay area.

Pierre who is a mother of three was found in a car in Claxton Bay. Her last known address was Hibiscus Drive, Petite Morne, Ste Madeleine.

The confirmation was facilitated by samples which were taken from Pierre’s family on February 6. The DNA tests were conducted at the Forensic Science Center in Federation Park.

The matter is now being treated like a homicide.
